Rise and Power of Three
Its pouring, so it must have rained. I remember it raining last month, the month before that and a all of the few months before that.
When it rains...
I'm stuck in the middle of the storm. The winds picked up from the Fall Of Delora. The thunder rumbles louder than Under The Hood Of Caroline. Isn't this supposed to only happen in threes? Is it true that those who live this end up living it easy? Is that smoke i smell?
We make it almost half a mile down the road when i know my next best idea is to pull over. The battery light glows bright red and the smell of newly charred electronics fill the cab. I step out to see smoke and flames gushing from under the hood of this 96 Ford Uhaul. An uncommon issue with Fords alarming system. A friends entire life sits in the back. We could just rush in and move all his things. Whats the chance of this thing blowing mid rush? Any one have any water? Since when do i have to press one for a 911 operator?
All is safe. Thermal readings of 86 degrees and below. By the time the Santa Rosa Fire Department got lost and found their way to us the fire had already burnt out. The brave red engine riders said that it looked to be an electrical fire from the alternator and the battery. Truck wont be starting up in this condition ever again.
They say when it rains, it pours. I keep telling them i was born into this storm.
